Overview- The Challenge

  • A bank holiday weekend bike ride challenge in Northern Ireland
  • Cycle a maximum of 60 miles in total over the three days
  • Fun break stops for fuel and fellowship along the way
  • Breathtaking views

Les Isaac, Street Pastors and fellow friends and supporters of Ascension Trust have now got on their bikes and become everyday heros to raise funds to help meet the practical needs of local communities. For more details on our cause please click here.

Journey & Itiniery

 

Arrival Day- Thursday 27th April

Arrive at Dublin International Airport and drive down to Dublin to meet with the 6 Ireland Street Pastor Schemes and Dublin volunteers, followed by a drive back down to Belfast to test and size the bikes, ready for tomorrow!

 

Cycle Day 1- We come together!

AM:Our day starts with a Business Breakfast in Newtownabbey before cycling 15 miles to Malone College
MIDDAY: lunch and meet & greets then we cycle 5 miles to Belfast City Centre with sightseeing along the way!
PM:Dinner begins in Coleraine followed by an action packed night of fellowship with Coleraine Street Pastors including their Street Pastors patrol.

Cycle Day 2- We endure!

AM: Our day starts with a challenging cycle totalling 27 miles through Coleraine, Portstewart, Portrush, Bushmills
MIDDAY: Its back to Coleraine for lunch! We take the ease off the challenge with some beautiful sights of the Giant’s Causeway and a brief walk down to the famous stones.
PM: After much cycling we then take a drive down to Belfast for dinner and the celebratory commissioning of Belfast/Newtownabbey/Ards Street Pastors. We then take to the streets with both Ards and Belfast patrols.

Cycle Day 3- We come out triumphant!

AM: We start our Sunday morning at City Church Belfast at 10:30 with Les Isaac speaking.
MIDDAY: A beautiful and well deserved 11 mile casual cycle around Belfast while sightseeing… think Stormont, CS Lewis & Titanic!
PM: We will finish to rounds of applause and mark the completion of our three day Sponsored Cycle with a Q&A session about Street Pastors at Strandtown Baptist at 7pm followed by a special meal.
